Scotty and wife Heather enjoy riding on Scotty’s bike. Harleys are a poplar bike in northeastern Ohio. Many ride without a helmet as it feels great and provides fuller peripheral vision. Motorcycling without helmet can also project courage, if not bravado, since severe injury and death travel more closely alongside such riders. In a few months Scotty will have a bad accident when a young woman will pull out from a side street violating his right of way and sending him and Heather crashing to the pavement. He will incur a severe concussion and cranial fracture running from ear to ear across the top of his head. He will be in a coma for several days.
